Robert A. Mason, JD, CELA, CAP is owner of Mason Law, PC, of Charlotte and Asheboro, North Carolina, a law firm devoted exclusively to legal issues involving the elderly and the disabled. Bob is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), a Board Certified Specialist in Elder Law by the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization, a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation, two-time past Chairman of the Elder Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, served seven years as Chairman of Hospice of Randolph County, North Carolina, past Chair of the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization, and a frequent speaker on elder and disabilities law issues. Bob is also a member of NAELA’s Council of Advanced Practitioners (CAP), which is an invitation group of less than 100 attorneys nationwide who have been NAELA members at least 10 years and are “av” rated by peer review rating service Martindale.com.
Bob especially focuses his practice on advanced asset protection techniques, trust law issues, and special needs trusts. With over 35 years of legal experience, Bob has a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, and a Juris Doctor cum laude from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law, Macon, Georgia (where he was Managing Editor of the Mercer Law Review).
