Federal Benefit Rate
Keyed to Social Security cost of living adjustments (3.2% for 2024), the Federal Benefit Rate (FBR) is the maximum amount payable under (and provides an income ceiling for) Supplemental Security Income (SSI). A number of other state and federal benefits are keyed to the FBR, as well. Monthly amounts are calculated by rounding down from the annual benefit divided by 12.

Federal Poverty Levels
The Federal Poverty Level (FPL) is updated periodically, and multiples of the FPL drive numerous federal and state benefits. You may calculate any other multiple by multiplying the 100% FPL by the desired percentage and rounding to the nearest dollar. For example, 138% of the one person FPL is $20,120 (13,590 x 1.38 = 14,580).
